IZiNCG was established in June 2000 and is now an affiliated body of the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS).
IZiNCG activities are coordinated through the Secretariat, which is hosted and administered by Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute (CHORI) in Oakland, California, USA.
IZiNCG is presently supported by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and has received funding from various sources in the past:
